Wedding | Jackson MO Photography
This new little family had the sweetest wedding. The church was full of family, and those closest to the couple. The kids were adorable, and everyone’s happy mood stuck around, despite the gloomy, rainy day!

A few months ago, I was asked if I’d be interested in shooting a small wedding at our church. Though I don’t usually do weddings, I did take the offer, and I’m SO glad I did! It was a blast, and I loved every second of it!
The bride was gorgeous, the groom was handsome, and you could definitely feel the love!
It’s April- time for more FILM awesomeness! I know it seems like it’s all I share these days, but I promise, things are picking up
I’ve got two weddings under my belt this month, and easing back into family sessions, whew!
For April, our group of ladies decided on the theme of details, and while I’m not sure how everyone will interpret it, I went random… Just tidbits, and little details of normal life.
COFFEE! That one little detail that gets me through the day
And, in cute cups!
(Ektar 100- I think, Nikon F100, 35mm)
Making your kid happy by taking a few seconds to buckle in her babies. One of those details you miss with older kids!
Mamiya 1000DTL, one part of my camera obsession.
My Target find plates
After collecting a ton of household stuff after 13 years of military life, I tend to buy something small to decorate each new house.
This time (the last time since we’re in retirement now!), it was plates. And they were the first thing I hung up, even before the movers were done!
I think they pair well with my Etsy find rooster sign from the last kitchen.

(Ektar in 35mm)

And, lastly, one of the little details that I almost missed walking around mid-town STL with the hubby last month- he noticed it, but I was so focused on our destination that I nearly missed it!
(Expired Kodak Portra 400VC in 120mm, Fuji GA645zi)

For the month of March, we decided to document our explorations on film! Some ladies traveled (and I cannot WAIT to see those images!), and I stayed closer to home. There was work, and school, and the joy of just chilling after all the upheaval of moving, so we didn’t go too far for our exploring.
We did, however, manage a day without kids! Hubby and I made the most of it by heading up to St. Louis for the day. We did a few errands, and then enjoyed our time. I (at 30 years old and having grown up in the area) had never been up into the Arch, so we decided to fix that! We were also able to catch Warhorse at the Fox Theater for my first live theater experience, and it was amazing!
(All images above were shot on Delta 100 on a Fuji GA645zi, self developed and scanned)
And, a few more shots from a roll just driving around the local area : )

It’s time, it’s TIME! As of April 1, 2013, Tara Stallings Photography will be booking family and other sessions in the Southeast Missouri area!
After a moving process that took almost a year (selling, traveling back and forth to see the hubby while he worked his new job and we were still at the old house, new house shopping with one person 500+ miles away, and two closings), we are finally where we meant to be, and FINALLY settled in!

In celebration of this grand opening, the following special is valid for family sessions booked for April and May. (Creative Fee and signed contract due at booking. Sessions must be scheduled and completed between April 1 and May 31, 2013.)
I am so excited to meet you all, and look forward to being able to photograph your beautiful families!
For February, our small group of (extremely talented!) ladies decided to honor Valentine’s day by using ‘Red’ as our theme for the month. Admittedly, none of my images are Valentine’s related, and these were all shot here and there in between the stress of closing on two houses (we are OFFICIALLY Missourians now!) and moving in, and getting the kiddo back and forth to school for awhile.
I am happy to say though, that February was a FUN month for my personal shooting. These locations include the side of the road (yay for no one thinking anything of someone pulled off on the shoulder with cameras LOL), church, and my mother’s backyard!
(Kodak Gold 100, F100… Not the best film for dreary days!)
(Kodak Portra 400, Mamiya C330)
(Kodak Gold 100, F100)
(more Kodak Gold… Lots of red church doors around here!)
Please make sure you follow the links around the circle to check out the fabulous work from all the ladies! Next up is Brandy Jaggers Photography!
For January’s theme, our group went with ‘cold’. For some, this was easier than others, and for ME, it worked out perfect
We started out January in Alabama, wrapping up the end of a very long moving process. Not a lot of cold down there, and New Year’s Day was spent mostly outside with the kids, with the oldest on his new bike (yay, Christmas!), and the youngest figuring out the mechanics of pedaling!
(Kodak Gold 100, 35mm, processed by the amazing Indie Film Lab)
And, then the day after we got up here, it snowed! Our oldest has experienced lots of the cold stuff while living in Germany, but the youngest had not. She got to make snow angels, and said over and over how excited she was!
(Portra 800 @ 1600. Needed a push, but had to use Walgreen’s for a quickie)
I did shoot a part of another roll just driving around the area too. I grew up here, but the kids have only been here on vacation. Lots of stuff to check out and introduce them too! No worries, it was still plenty cold
Next, scoot around the blog circle please, and check out the amazing work of Brandy Jaggers!
I had the pleasure of shooting a friend’s family portraits for Christmas, and now that the holiday has passed, I can share
December’s blog circle is focusing on ‘holidays’- however we might celebrate them
Our holiday celebrations have been pretty laid back- decorating, (very little) baking, and Christmas day spent in jammies playing with new toys, and spending time together as a family.
(Sorry- I gotta do a blurry tree shot. Every year! Fuji Acros 100 on Mamiya C330 TLR))
(Portra 800 +1 on F100)
(TriX on F100, at 1600)
(Ilford HP5+ on F100, at 1600)
(more TriX)
(I can’t remember… 35mm on F100)
(Trix, F100)
(HP5+, F100)
(Portra800, F100)
Color films were experimenting with low light, lab developed and scanned. Black and whites were hand developed and scanned at home : )
*NOW, continue the holiday warm fuzzies over at Haber Photography !
I’ve gotten a lot of scans back this week, and while some are being saved for my Dec Film Blog Circle, I wanted to share a few as well now!
(HP5+, pushed 2, home develop and scan)
(some forgotten type of 35mm)
(Portra 800, pushed 1)
(Portra 800, pushed 1. The kid that doesn’t like to pose
)
(Portra 400)
(Portra 400 in 120mm… I prefer this SO much more than the digital version I took at the same time!)
***And an announcement! Due to an upcoming move (finally!), I will no longer be accepting clients for the time being, but will continue to share my love of photography***
I hope you’ll keep hanging out in the meantime!
